Consistency, Professionalism & Splashback Tiling Experience

Looking for a splashback tiler in Auckland who actually gets it right the first time? You’ve found them. At Dakom Tiling, we’ve been delivering precision splashback installs across Auckland for over 10 years – with the certifications, reviews, and finished work to back it up.

Whether you’re refreshing a tired kitchen, upgrading a bathroom, or tiling a new build from scratch, the right splashback sets the tone for the whole space. We take that seriously. Clean cuts, consistent grout lines, full-coverage adhesive – no shortcuts, no spot-fixing, no drama.

What East Auckland Homeowners Actually Want from a Tiler

We’ve spoken with a lot of homeowners across the east, and the pattern is clear. They don’t just want someone to show up and start laying tiles. They want a tiler who:

Shows up when they say they will. Unreliable trades are one of the most common complaints in any renovation. We respect your schedule.

Gives them a straight quote. No vague estimates that balloon after the job starts. We quote the job properly before work begins, including waterproofing, substrate preparation, and finishing details.

Does the waterproofing work correctly? Not as an afterthought. Not with the cheapest membrane on the market. Our bathroom waterproofing service follows the correct standards, and as PS3 Registered Authors, we can issue the Producer Statements your council consent inspection may require.

Communicates throughout the job. Nobody wants to be left guessing. We keep you informed at each stage, especially if something unexpected comes up during the job, like discovering the previous substrate wasn’t correctly prepared.

Leaves the site clean. We’re in your home. We treat it that way.

Nebo did an outstanding job on our 2 bathrooms. From the very beginning, he was incredibly thorough during the quoting process, asking lots of detailed questions to make sure he fully understood exactly what we wanted. His workmanship is excellent, with impressive attention to detail throughout, and the final result not only matched our vision but exceeded our expectations. We are so pleased with the quality of his work and would highly recommend Dakom tiling to anyone looking for a skilled, professional and reliable tiler.

Nebo and his team of tilers did a 1st class job of our bathroom renovation. Very high level attention to detail with flawless mitre joints and they really took their time getting our herringbone pattern lined up and symmetrical around our shower niche. Great communication, always turned up on time & tided up afterwards. If you’re looking for a very good tiler, at a reasonable price point I would contact Nebo & lock it in. Will be recommending Dakom Tiling to our friends & family for sure.

We’ve used Dakom Tiling Ltd on multiple projects for bathroom tiling and waterproofing, and they’ve been consistently solid.
The workmanship is top quality — clean lines, good attention to detail, and everything finished properly. Their waterproofing is done right, which is critical, and gives us confidence handing over to clients.
They’re reliable, turn up when they say they will, and get through the work without dragging things out. Easy to deal with on site and don’t need to be micromanaged.
Overall, very happy with their work and we’ll continue using them for bathroom tiling and waterproofing moving forward.

Our Recent Auckland Splashback Projects

Te Atatū
Splashback tiling
White Subway - Te Atatū Kitchen

White Subway – Te Atatū Kitchen

Slim white subway tiles laid in a classic brick pattern, paired with a dark grout to make the layout pop. The elongated format keeps the eye moving across the bench, making the space feel wider and more open. Clean, structured, timeless — and far easier to maintain than it looks.

Ponsonby
Splashback bathroom tiling
Ponsonby Bathroom

Large Format Grey Stone – Ponsonby Bathroom

Full-height large format tiles in a warm grey stone finish – no grout lines cluttering the view, just a clean, seamless wall that reads as one continuous surface. The scale of the tile makes a narrow bathroom feel taller and more considered. Adhesive fully bedded, falls correct, finished to a standard we’re proud of.

North Shore
Teal gloss, kitchen splashback tiling

Teal Gloss, North Shore Kitchen

A bold choice that paid off. These handcrafted-feel teal tiles bring colour and texture to a kitchen that was previously all-white and flat. The natural glaze variation means no two tiles look the same — it’s a splashback that gives you something to look at. Paired against white cabinetry and stainless appliances, it’s the feature piece the room needed.

Frequently Asked Questions About Splash Tiling

How much does splashback tiling cost in Auckland?

A straightforward kitchen splashback typically runs between NZ$50–$150 per m² for supply and install, depending on tile choice and surface conditions. Smaller areas often cost more per m² because the fixed preparation and labour time is the same regardless of size. We’ll give you an itemised quote upfront – no guessing.

How long does splashback tiling take?

Most kitchen splashbacks are a one-day job. Larger or more complex installs – full wall height, intricate layouts, or combined waterproofing – may take two days. We’ll confirm the timeline in your quote.

Do I need waterproofing behind a kitchen splashback?

All of them. Ceramic, porcelain, glass, natural stone, large format, mosaic – we work with any material. If a tile needs special handling (glass, marble, oversized format), we’ll tell you upfront.

What tiles can you install for a splashback?

A typical bathroom tiling project takes three to six days depending on the size of the space, tile format, design complexity, and whether waterproofing is required. We’ll give you a clear timeframe as part of your quote so you can plan your renovation around it.

Do you supply tiles or do I buy them?

Both options work. We can advise on suppliers and tile selection, or work with tiles you’ve already purchased. We’ll specify the quantity you need so nothing is wasted.
