South Auckland tilers who treat every house on its own terms
A brand-new Drury townhouse has completely different requirements to a 1970s brick-and-tile in Manurewa. We have tiled both since 2016, and we assess each job on what is actually there instead of running one approach on everything.
Old houses and new builds need different tiling
Many South Auckland homes went up during the postwar housing boom, when waterproofing standards were minimal and substrates were often laid over materials that shift and flex over time. Retiling one of these bathrooms without properly addressing what is underneath almost always ends in failure. We strip back, assess the substrate, and only tile once the base is right.
At the other end, the new-build boom around Drury, Papakura and Karaka brings its own issues. New construction moves fast, and concrete and timber substrates need time to cure and stabilise before tiles go down. Skip that step and you get cracked grout, hollow spots and tiles lifting inside a year.
Waterproofing is where South Auckland bathrooms most often go wrong, and usually the tiles themselves look fine. The problem is underneath: membrane applied too thin, corners and junctions missed, or no membrane at all. The Building Code requires proper waterproofing in wet areas, and Auckland Council requires a PS3 Producer Statement from a registered author before a Code Compliance Certificate can be issued on consented work. We are PS3 registered authors, every wet area we do is waterproofed to the correct standard with full documentation, and the work carries our 10-year workmanship warranty.

Suburbs we cover
Before you book
Do you work in both old and new homes in South Auckland?
Yes, and the area demands it. Older postwar homes need careful substrate assessment and preparation before tiling. New builds around Drury, Papakura and Karaka need checking for curing and structural readiness first. We assess each job individually rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
Can you issue PS3 waterproofing statements for building consent?
Yes. We are registered PS3 authors with Auckland Council and can issue the Producer Statements required for building consent sign-off. Confirm this with any tiler you are considering for a new build or major renovation, because plenty cannot.
How long does a bathroom tiling job take?
A standard bathroom typically takes between 3 and 7 working days depending on size, tile format, design complexity and whether waterproofing is required. We give you a realistic timeframe with your itemised quote.
Do you supply tiles as well as install them?
Either works. We can order through our trade accounts at The Tile Depot, Tile Space and Tile Warehouse, or install tiles you have already chosen.
